3. Modern facilities that enhance learning
We have made significant investments in major refurbishments and new infrastructure across our Sarawak campus. In line with Swinburne’s long-term commitment in enhancing the campus experience for students, the university has embarked on phases of campus redevelopment since 2019.
Our Sarawak campus currently houses a CISCO-certified lab, a cybersecurity lab, Internet of Things (IoT) lab, a Mac Lab and a design lab for students enrolled into our design programs. In addition, there are also state-of-the-art science and engineering labs fully-equipped with high-tech equipment to facilitate students’ learning.
Other campus facilities and services include a 350-seat lecture theatre, 24-hour computer laboratories, a Multi-Purpose Hall that accommodates 900 as well as recreational facilities including a fully-equipped gym.
Students also have access to our library that comes with a 24-hour study area. The library holds more than 380,000 book titles in which 90% are in digital format. Students can gain access to our library of electronic books (eBooks) that are made available via several different platforms as well as access to more than 80 online databases covering a majority of disciplines, online newspapers and magazines, and even full text theses and final-year projects to aid them in their studies.
Being a university of technology, Swinburne Sarawak has been using the latest learning management system CANVAS since 2019. CANVAS allows our students to study online from their PC/desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device. It is the most advanced and contemporary system available and is also adopted by other renowned universities such as Harvard, Yale and Stanford.
Swinburne Sarawak also produces innovative, high-impact and engaged research. We support and invest in our researchers by offering them opportunities in international collaborations and industry involvements, and access to world-class research facilities through Swinburne’s Centre for Digital Futures and SWIM.
We are also proud to be the first Australian university to become an Adobe Creative Campus. With this outstanding achievement, we want our students to stand out in a sea of CV-sameness by being the most digitally savvy of them all. Whether it’s creating content, solving problems or knowing fact from fake, you’ll know what to do, when to do it and how. Best of all, you get exclusive access to over 20 Adobe Creative Cloud apps, for free!
By 2022, up to RM50 million will be invested into engineering and computing laboratories, research laboratories, teaching and learning spaces, student accommodation, the student hub and cafeteria, as well as the lobby and building foyer. This will further support student centred learning, enhance student welfare and encourage a balanced university life.
4. High graduate employability rate
Swinburne has a graduate employability rate of 93% based on Swinburne Sarawak’s Graduate Tracking 2019, proving that we are always focused on making our students employable with industry-relevant curriculum to make them stand out once they go out into the career world.
We have also been listed as one of JobStreet.com’s Top 10 Preferred Private Universities, a selection based on strong collaboration with industry partners, demand and supply from the job market, employers’ recommendation, and Universities Graduate Employability Review.
Our graduates go on to work for the biggest and best companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Tesla, BHP, Shell, EY, PwC and British Airways.*

5. Flexible study options
Kuching. Melbourne. Or both!
You will pay only 1/3 the tuition fee as a Swinburne Sarawak student yet receive the same Australian education and testamur. Alternatively, you can also start your studies in Kuching and transfer to Melbourne after one year of studies.
We also understand that studying full-time may not be practical or feasible for some. That is why we let you choose how and when you study. Depending on your course, you are free to choose your study mode to help you find balance between work, life and study.
