Precision Agriculture for Sarawak Rural Community
Soil-to-Table franchise system for small farmers has been developed collaboratively with agriculture industry. This franchise system combines both technological advancement and business model to enable small farmers to startup their agriculture business with low entry barrier in term of cost and knowledge.
Industry Revolution 4.0 – Digital Waste Management Platform
Three-party consortium Swinburne-Trienekens(Sarawak)-Kuching City Council has initiated mega Smart City plan on Industry Revolution 4.0 – Digital Waste Management platform for Kuching and Bintulu districts with 520,000 and 114,000 populations respectively. Swinburne team has revolutionised Trienekens’s operation from traditional regime to digital twin. Trienekens’s physical and cyber systems have been connected seamlessly.
Indigenous Heritage and the Internet
Indigenous knowledge – all stored and accessible in an app; knowledge about cultural heritage, language and tradition. A virtual museum curated by the people themselves. We are training users in rural communities to do exactly that and are developing the app which will make these stories accessible.
Intelligent Farming and Automation
The future of farming is full automation which can be remotely controlled. That's what we're building here for the oil-palm industry. Different machines which can fertilise, harvest and pluck, all connected through the Internet of Things and operated by AI, all easy to assemble which makes it commercially viable and a game changer.
Predictive Medicine and Big Data
Imagine being able to predict exactly what your cardiac health will be in 20 or 50 years. Together with our partners, we are creating a paradigm of historical data of cardiovascular patients and making an easy to use predictive model against which your current health can be compared.
Workshop on the Internet of Things
CDF organised a workshop on smart cities and smart farming for government officials. It was facilitated by Prof Congduc Pham, University of Pau and Pays De l’adour in France (right) and Prof. Dimitrios Georgakopoulos, Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne (left)
Assoc. Prof Patrick Then (centre) says, “the objective was to see the possibilities and solutions IoT offers for current recurring problems.”
