Over 20 years of teaching career in higher learning institutions, Dr Tan Vie Ming has applied student-centred learning approach to enhance students’ interest in learning Business Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, and Research Methodology; for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
He is an HDR registered principal supervisor who supervises PhD, Masters by research, MHRM and MBAi students in thesis writing. He has designed and conducted Quantitative Research Methods workshops on SPSS and SmartPLS upon request from postgraduate students and academic colleagues to help develop their research capacity.
Dr Tan is currently appointed as representative to Swinburne Sarawak Academic Board 2020-2022, and Industry Engagement Committee 2021-2023. He initiates STEM workshops for shaping future of young generations in rural community. His STEM education involvement has been granted a highly commended mention in the category of Swinburne Vice-Chancellor’s 2020 Community Engagement Award.
