Marione earned her Bachelor of Science in Education (TESL) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and her Master of Arts (Applied Linguistics) from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). She began her career in tertiary teaching at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Campus as a language staff member. In 2011, she joined Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus as a language lecturer, where she has since taught various levels of the Intensive English (IE) course, specializing in reading and writing units, as well as all levels of English for Academic Purposes (EAP). She also teaches Foundation English and Academic Research Reading and Writing for Foundation Studies and contributes to short courses such as the English Enhancement Program (EEP).
Marione is deeply committed to helping students transition seamlessly into tertiary education from a secondary school mindset. She takes pride in designing inclusive teaching materials that recognize students’ individuality and diverse needs. Valuing collaboration across departments and disciplines, she emphasizes the importance of every role in creating a successful educational experience.
Her research interests focus on tertiary transition programs, English language engagement, curriculum design, and quality assurance. She is particularly interested in ESL classroom dynamics, teaching methodologies, and the integration of digital tools into language learning to enhance student engagement and outcomes.
