Dr. Victor Bong graduated with First Class Honors in Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology. He was the Project Engineer of a local engineering start-up specializing in various water treatment systems processes, surface coating technologies, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessments prior to pursuing his postgraduate studies.
He was conferred PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Swinburne University of Technology with his thesis entitled “Fundamental Study of Heat Transport by Phonons and Electrons in Semiconductors at Micro and Nanoscale”, following which he joined the university as a Research Fellow and Lecturer. He is also a CIDB Certified BIM Trainer, and a Qualified MyCREST Facilitator.
Dr. Victor is an active member of ASHRAE and IEM, having served in the ASHRAE Malaysia Chapter and Kuching Section committees, and as the Chairman of the IEM Sarawak Branch Graduate and Student Section.
His research interests include nanoscale heat conduction, Building Information Modelling, sustainable built environments, and heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR).
