After graduating with a degree in TESL, Chian Hou pursued his MEd in Educational Psychology. He was a research assistant during his postgraduate studies and he was involved in the development of the Reading Readiness Test and Training Kit for Preschool Children. Chian Hou joined Swinburne Sarawak as a part-time lecturer in 2014 and became a full-time lecturer in 2015. He is currently teaching units in the foundation programme.
Chian Hou is interested in research about Malaysian English. Besides that, due to his background in educational psychology, Chian Hou is also interested in the psychological aspects of learning and the different approaches that can be used to help students with special needs.
