26 April 2019 | 3.00 PM | 3 Minute Thesis | Lecture Theatre | The Three Minute Thesis competition is hosted to allow postgraduate students to share their research under three minutes in a way the public can understand. This allow postgraduate students to practise their presentation and speech giving skills while also potentially reach out to potential stakeholders of their research. |
5 July 2019 | 7.00 PM | Postgraduate Potluck Session | G9 Centre for Digital Future | The Postgraduate Potluck session aims to create a cultural understanding through food from various cultures brought by the HDR students from a diverse background. It also allows students to socialise and share their prospects in the research community. |
29 July 2019 | 7.00 PM | Badminton Session | Multi-purpose Hall (MPH) | The badminton session aims to encourage HDR students to have a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance. |
2 October 2019 | 2.00 PM | Things I wish I had known (A sharing session by young academicians) | G9 Centre for Digital Future | The Sharing Session was hosted in collaboration with young academicians from Swinburne Sarawak to share their experience and insights during their postgraduate studies and how they sculpt their pathway into the academic sector. The sharing session helps to motivate HDR students throughout their journey in the research field. |
21 December 2019 | 7.00 PM | Annual Dinner | Kelab Golf Sarawak (KGS) | The 2019 Year End Annual Dinner hosted by the PGRS committee marks the end of the year and is the final gathering hosted by the committees for HDR students to socialise and share their research development throughout the year. |

3 Minute Thesis (3MT)
The three minute thesis (3MT) is a competition hosted for HDR students to present their research in a way the public can understand, in under 3 minutes.

The championship title for the 2019 3MT competition goes to Darrel Nadeng Dominic and first runner-up goes to Irina Baydarova, with Darren winning the people’s choice award.
