Vietnam university delegation visits Swinburne Sarawak

KUCHING – A delegation from the University of Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, recently paid a visit to Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus with the objective of strengthening the relationship between the two institutions.

The delegation, headed by Mr Truong Ngoc An, the Vice Rector of the university, was greeted on arrival by Swinburne Sarawak’s Associate Professor Enn Ong, Academic Director; Ms Caroline Hon, Director of Administration; Haji Hussain Taiban, Registrar; and Mr James Ho, Business Development and Communications Manager, as well as heads of departments and schools.

The visitors were given an insight into the structure of the university, its day-to-day running, its various schools, courses and facilities available at a briefing.

The delegates also discussed courses, staffing and facilities with Professor Anatoli Vakhguelt, head of Swinburne Sarawak’s School of Engineering and Science.

The visitors were impressed with the caliber of academics at the school and especially with the accreditation of its courses by the Institute of Engineers Australia and the Board of Engineers Malaysia.

The delegates also commended the university on the facilities it has made available to its engineering students.

The delegation was later taken on a tour of the campus which included viewing fully-furnished on-campus student hostels and part of the university’s RM110 million expanded campus facilities which will officially be opened in August this year.
