SwinCARE Fun Run to raise funds for Mental Health Association Kuching Branch

KUCHING A run to promote awareness on mental wellbeing and raise funds for the Group Home (formerly known as The Halfway Home), Mental Health Association of Sarawak Kuching Branch will be held on 3 November 2018 by Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.

SwinCARE Fun Run is a 5KM running event that will take place at the university’s campus at Jalan Simpang Tiga. It is in aid of the Group Home that offers support and rehabilitation to patients recovering from mental illness and helps prepare them with the necessary skills to earn a living.

300 participants are expected to take part in the event. The flag off will be at 6.30am by the Chairperson of MHAS Kuching Branch Dr Gan Chee Kuan.

The route covers Swinburne campus, Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, Jalan Rock, Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, Jalan Tun Jugah, returning to Jalan Ong Tiang Swee and ends at the campus.

Registration fee is RM50.00 inclusive of t-shirt, medal and refreshments. It is open to students and staff of Swinburne as well as members of the public. The first 60 Swinburne’s students and staff to register will receive a cash voucher worth RM25 from Angelus Fitness.

The organising committee is also seeking sponsorships from interested parties who would like to be part of the event and contribute to the funds. For more information on sponsorships, contact Mohamad Ehwan at 082-260 786 or email to mehwan@swinburne.edu.my.

Those interested to register for this event can register online via https://www.jotform.com/sbsadmin/swincare-run-2018-registration-form or meet a representative from Student HQ, Block A, Swinburne’s campus. The representatives are available Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Registration deadline is 25 September 2018.
