Swinburne Sarawak to hold Info Day on Saturday, 4 July

KUCHING – SPM and STPM school leavers looking to pursue further studies will have the opportunity to find out more about courses offered by Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus at its Info Day from 9:00am to 4:00pm, this Saturday.

Academics from the university’s four schools – Language and Foundation, Engineering and Science, Business and Enterprise, Computing and Design – will be available to provide information on courses, application and the like.

From 10:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, the heads and senior lecturers of the schools will provide an overview of the courses offered and will be available to answer any queries.

Swinburne Sarawak currently offers one-year foundation studies in business, design, engineering/science, and information technology/multimedia. These are pre-university courses designed to prepare SPM school leavers for entry into undergraduate courses, undifferentiated from those offered by its home campus in Melbourne, at Swinburne Sarawak.

Undergraduate studies offered are in business, engineering, science, computing and design.

Students have the option of completing these courses at Swinburne Sarawak or at its campus in Melbourne. The same Australian degree is awarded to all Swinburne graduates.

Intake for both foundation and degree courses is on 10 August.

On Info day, application fees for students who meet the criteria for entry into a course of study will be waived and offered a place to further their studies at Swinburne Sarawak. As such, students are advised to bring along their SPM or STPM results.

Meanwhile, students who have yet to decide on a course of study may take an aptitude test. This quick test helps to determine their interests and strengths.

Counsellors from the university will then analyse and interpret the results and base on this, guide students on suitable areas of study to pursue.

For enquiries on study loans and scholarships, staff from Yayasan Sarawak will be available to provide details.
