Swinburne Sarawak to hold info day in KK

KOTA KINABALU – Students who have completed SPM, STPM, UEC or A Levels will be able to obtain more information on tertiary education at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ Info Day which will be held at the Hyatt Hotel, this Saturday, 6 February.

The event, held at the hotel’s Keembong Room, will be opened to members of the public from 12pm to 4pm.

Students and their parents will have the opportunity to enquire about a range of courses in business/commerce, engineering, science, ICT and design which the university offers.

As a foreign branch campus, Swinburne Sarawak’s courses are identical to those offered by its home campus in Melbourne, and graduates are awarded the same internationally-recognised Australian degree.

To help parents and their university-going children make better-informed decision on the course of study to pursue, course counselors will be available to entertain any queries and advise students.

Also present will be senior academics from the university. Professor Anatoli Vakhguelt, head of the university’s School of Engineering and Science will be available to elaborate on the various courses offered and the university’s strong emphasis on practical learning for engineering undergraduates.

Associate Professor Clem Kuek also from the School of Engineering and Science may be consulted on biotechnology programs and the many career paths that are open to the biotechnology graduate.

Senior lecturer Gregory Wee from the School of Business and Design will be available to answer queries on design courses.

In order to apply for courses, students are requested to bring along a copy of their academic results, identity card and birth certificate.

Swinburne Sarawak, located in the city of Kuching, is the only international branch campus of Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

The university currently has more than 3,000 students with international students from more than 40 countries. It expects to have 5,000 students in the next three years.
