KUCHING – Classes for foundation and degree courses will start in January and February, respectively, at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus next year.
To entertain enquiries and applications to its business, computing, design, engineering and science courses, the university is holding an Open Day from 10am to 5pm this Saturday, 14 December 2013.
Forecast results will be accepted for applications, and photocopies of the applicant’s IC and birth certificate will also be required.
An application fee waiver will be given to applications made during the event.
Applicants who satisfy the entry requirement will be issued an offer to study at Swinburne Sarawak, in the form of a letter, on the day.
To enable parents and their university-going children to make better informed decisions on higher education, the university has organised a host of activities. Short talk sessions by senior academics on the variety of disciplines and their career outcomes will be held from 11am to 12pm and 2pm to 2:30pm.
A session on Master of Arts (TESOL) is also on the agenda.
A graphic and multimedia design exhibition showcasing the work of students and graduates created for industry provide a window into what the courses involve and their career prospects.
Visitors may also view a collection of students’ projects from the business, engineering and science disciplines, or take a guided tour of the campus to learn about the facilities and services available to students.
Schoolleavers unsure of their career choices may take a quick computerised personality test. Trained university counsellors will guide them to suitable courses based on the result.
Information on scholarships and study loans may be obtained from Yayasan Sarawak and PTPTN representatives at the financial assistance booth.
Swinburne Sarawak is the only international branch campus of Swinburne University in Australia. The courses it offers range from foundation, degree to postgraduate studies.
