Swinburne Sarawak lecturer appointed as FINAS Board member

KUCHING – A Senior Lecturer from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus’ School of Design and Arts, Mr Gregory Wee, has been appointed as a new Board member of the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (FINAS).

He was one of six individuals recently appointed as new Board members of FINAS, effective 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2025. The letters of appointment were presented by Communications and Digital Minister YB Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil during a ceremony on 15 August 2023.

“This is a recognition from a pinnacle organisation that looks after the entire national film industry,” said Wee.

“Thus, it is an excellent platform to contribute to and to work towards improving the policies for Sarawak and our nation’s creative industry, and in turn bringing the name of Swinburne into the industry and benefitting the students,” he added.
