Health and Safety Executive

The position is an administrative position at the Branch Campus University in Sarawak. The position reports to the Manager, Building Facilities and is responsible for areas as designated by the Manager, Building Facilities and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee. Currently these include:
  • Generate and promote a positive health and safety culture. This represents a key role in helping to control occupational risk;
  • Ensure all safety legislation legislations are adhered to, and policies and practices are adopted; and
  • Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the protective and preventative measures that the University is required or chooses to follow, and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.
This position will also be required to work closely with other staff members on campus.

Executive, Digital Marketing

The University desires to expand the use of digital marketing for the primary purpose of student recruitment through search, content, social media and all other digital platforms to increase lead generation and management with an ultimate aim of conversion through enrolment.

The University aims to maintain a very high profile in its target markets through advertising the Swinburne brand to grow awareness, preference and recommendation. This position will lead the performance marketing and website management needs of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

This position is responsible for all digital marketing activities for the University with a key focus on digital lead generation and management, website management and the customer relationship management platform (CRM). This includes to:
  • Provide a ‘whole of university’ approach to developing a digital marketing strategy;
  • Employ “growth-hacking” marketing strategies to increase return-on-marketing-investment;
  • Explore new and innovative ways of increasing quality leads for the Student Recruitment team; and
  • Manage and analyse data in the CRM to make decisions about lead generation campaigns.
The position works closely with academic and administrative staff at Swinburne Sarawak and liaises with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

Executive, Financial Advisory

The primary focus of this position is to proactively assist and support the Assistant Manager, Admissions and Visa in providing supervision on a broad range of administrative tasks and record management, which includes providing information and assistance to Swinburne Sarawak students, staff and external stakeholders, in relation to the student administration function.

This position is responsible for providing and ensuring that the functions which include duties listed below are
carried out in a highly coordinated, professional and effective manner:-
  1. Financial Advisory (scholarships and study loans including any other processes related such as processing applications, agreements submission and etc); and
  2. Student Insurance (renewal and new including any other processes related such as insurance claims and etc).
At the discretion of the Director, Future Students, the position may from time to time, be assigned to perform other functions within the Division as and when required.

The position will work closely with the staff at Swinburne Sarawak and will liaise with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

    Executives, Student Recruitment

    The position supports the Future Students (FS) needs of the University. It is anticipated that Swinburne
    Sarawak will expand rapidly and that the responsibilities and scope of the position will grow accordingly.

    The position is responsible for marketing the University and its products and services in Malaysia or
    international markets. This involves contributing to:
    • Plan and execute marketing and student recruitment plans to increase international enrolment into the University;
    • Develop and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders including agents and school officials in West Malaysia to attract prospects from the region to study in Swinburne Sarawak;
    • Provide advice to students on courses and other matters related to studying at Swinburne Sarawak;
    • Process student applications efficiently and effectively; and
    • Execute marketing activities in collaboration with academics.
    The position works closely with Academic and Professional staff at Swinburne Sarawak and liaises with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources.

      Officer, Visa [fixed-term contract]

      The primary focus of this position is to proactively assist and support the Assistant Manager, Admissions and Visa to provide information, administrative support to prospective and current students into providing information and assistance to Swinburne Sarawak students, staff and external stakeholders, in relation to the visa information and all other related function.

      This position is responsible for providing and ensuring that the functions which include duties listed below are carried out in a highly coordinated, professional and effective manner: –
      1. Process new applications and renewals of visa for all students;
      2. Update student records in Student Management System;
      3. Liaison officer for International and non-Sarawakian student on immigration matters;
      4. Prepare reports for both Swinburne and external respective local authority i.e. MOHE and Immigration; and
      5. Coordinate any awareness or campaign event(s) on visa related.
      At the discretion of Director, Future Students, the position may from time to time, be assigned to perform other functions within the Division as and when required.

      The position will work closely with the staff at Swinburne Sarawak and will liaise with staff at other Swinburne campuses to ensure consistency in corporate style and efficient use of resources, as well as with
      the Immigration Department Malaysia.

        IT Executive – Lab Support [fixed-term contract]

        This position is an executive position at the University Branch Campus in Sarawak. The position will be responsible for areas as designated by the Manager, Information Technology (IT) Unit. These include:
        • Provide IT support to the University staff and students;
        • Provide technical support and maintenance for the University’s computer lab, ensuring all hardware and software are functional;
        • Assist students and staff with troubleshooting, managing lab resources, and ensuring a smooth, efficient operation of the lab environment;
        • Develop and maintain various procedural and technical documentations on areas of customer service support;
        • Work with the stakeholder on the procurement of the teaching software and maintenance of software licenses renewal; and
        • Resolve work related issue pro-actively and improve work processes.
        This position will work closely with other staff members on campus.

        IT Officer – Lab Support [fixed-term contract]

        The position is a technical support position at the University. The position will report to the IT Executive (Lab Support) and Assistant Manager, IT Customer Support and is responsible for areas as designated by the Manager, Information Technology (IT).
        Currently these areas include but not limited to:
        • Deliver quality customer service;
        • Provide fundamental IT support (including troubleshooting) to all campus computer labs (laptops, PC hardware, applications, wired network, wireless network, printers, projectors, audio and visual systems, etc.);
        • Handle desktop security which includes reviewing, downloading, testing and deploying system patches and updates;
        • Handle usage of desktop management tool to create and deploy images; and
        • Participate in IT projects and initiatives.
        This position will work closely with other staff members on campus.

        1. Administration (Student Village database) and operations (inclusive management of repair and maintenance, security, parcel or mailing services and cleaning) of Student Village (On-Campus Accommodation);
        2. Activities and events for Student Village residents;
        3. Well-being and welfare of Student Village residents; and
        4. Accommodation advisory.
