On 8th and 9th September 2021, the virtual accreditation visit for Chemical Engineering New Cycle Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) was held. Accreditation is a vital process we are performing at Swinburne to ensure that our engineering courses obtain professional accreditation and recognition. EAC reviews the engineering outcome-based education approach, comprehensiveness of our academic curriculum, student’s achievement and outcome attainment, quality and adequacy of academic and support staff, teaching and learning facilities and Swinburne’s quality management system. Accreditation assures the quality of the institution and courses and assist in quality improvement. The exercise also assesses the course delivery are relevant and in accordance to professional guideline during current pandemic situation.
The event was well coordinated with support from the Chancellery, the FECS management team, academic staff, administrative and support team, students and external stakeholders consisting of employers, course advisory panel and alumni. Administrative units’ involvement demonstrated the institution excellent in service and provision of a world class university and education experience. Melbourne academic staff participation was a great testament of the dedication of Swinburne University of Technology in the provision of internationally recognised degrees.
