Aims and learning outcomes

This unit provides students with the skills to develop and publish a basic website. Students will also learn basic web management skills and handle issues regarding web publishing such as promoting websites, maintaining websites, and web technologies.

Students who successfully complete this unit should be able to:

  1. Acquire in-depth knowledge of the Internet, World Wide Web and cloud computing
  2. Analyse web development process and the web design principles
  3. Develop and present a design plan for a website
  4. Use web development tools to develop and present a website
  5. Test, publish and maintain a website
  6. Able to recognise various advanced web technologies and use them to enhance a basic website
