A total of 18 participating organisations from a range of industries and companies such as Materialise Malaysia, Ambank Group, Al Rahji Bank, Samling Group, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad, Shin Yang Group, KTS Group, X-FAB, Yung Kong Galvanizing Industries Sdn Bhd, MJC City Development, Taiyo Yuden (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Jobstreet.com and WEIDA (M) Bhd, will set up booths to exhibit and conduct interviews with potential candidates for a range of job openings.

“The fair is intended to provide a forum for developing productive relationships and creating opportunities for employers as well as our graduating students and graduates,” says Cindy Biding, the Assistant Registrar of Swinburne Sarawak who is also the organising chairperson of the fair.

The fair, which will be held from 9am to 4pm, will at the same time provide graduands with information about the various organizations and serve to aid networking between all parties, she said.

“On the day, graduands and graduates can submit their resumes to the participating organizations and job interviews will also be conducted,” Cindy said.

As such, those interested are requested to bring along their CVs. The companies which will conduct interviews on the day are Inter Excel Advisory, KTS Holdings, MJC City Development and Weida (M) Bhd which have openings for business, engineering and IT positions.

There will also be career talks where participants will be able to obtain advice on what employers look for in a candidate, how to produce impressive resumes as well as tips on the do’s and don’ts at interviews.

Meanwhile, the alumni get-together will be held from 12pm to 2pm on Thursday. It will be an opportunity for Swinburne Sarawak graduates to catch up and share their experiences.

The university’s close links to industry and emphasis on real-world learning ensure that its graduates are employment-ready.
